AUCA Auto Club held its first offline event since its inception at the NIO House in Shanghai Tower, where nearly 30 alumni from different overseas universities in the automotive industry gathered.

The event was opened by Bill Xu, Head of China Office, Washington University in St. Louis. As the Chair of Alumni Engagement Committee and one of the initiators of the AUCA Automotive Club, Bill introduced the club’s original intention, hoping that this platform could maintain focus and professionalism, provide opportunities for in-depth communication among AUCA member universities’ alumni engaged in the automotive industry, and promote everyone to get to know each other and make friends.

In the following sharing session, several alumni guest speakers gave wonderful speeches.

Frank Yip and Yu Xia, alumni of Washington University in St. Louis, introduced the latest trends in the development of the new energy vehicle industry.

Jeff Wang, an alumnus of Ohio State University, explained the integrated die-casting technology of new energy vehicles in simple terms.

Todd Fortner, an alumnus of the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, shared his first-hand experience of the development of China’s automobile industry.

The themes and content shared by the guests sparked lively discussions among the alumni present, and everyone shared their experiences and insights in the automotive field. They took photos, added friends, and brainstormed ideas for future events, spending a pleasant and fruitful afternoon together.

We would like to extend our special thanks to the China Office of Washington University in St. Louis, the China Office of the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, and the China Gateway of Ohio State University for their strong support of this event. We would also like to thank Xia Yu for coordinating the venue and Frank Yip for sponsoring the event.
