On June 27th, the "Future Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" AUCA Alumni Forum was successfully held at the AI Origin Community in Haidian District, Beijing.
On June 27th, the "Future Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" AUCA Alumni Forum was successfully held at the AI Origin Community in Haidian District, Beijing. The forum brought together top scholars, industry leaders and innovative practitioners in the field of international education to discuss the transformation of education and future development driven by AI technology. The event was jointly supported by Dongsheng Town, Beijing Dongsheng Nonggongshang Corp and Plug and Play China, attracting nearly 100 education professionals, representatives from Chinese and oversea universities, alumni representatives and technology enterprises.
The forum was hosted by Summer Wu, AUCA Rotary President and Country Manager-Greater China, Bocconi University. The rapid development of AI is reshaping the education system. We need to make joint efforts to consider how to empower teaching with technology and build a smarter and more inclusive learning model. The speakers and participants kicked off this thought-provoking feast on education and technology.
Keynote Speech: Cutting-edged Insights Spark Controversy
Wang Yi, the Executive Director of Harvard Center Shanghai and Advisor of AUCA, delivered a speech featured on "Education and Employment in the New International Situation". He thoroughly explained how schools and parents should help students prepare and cultivate the core competencies needed for future employment in the face of numerous uncertainties, such as the current international situation, economic development, and technological progress.
Wenjuan Mi, Founder and CEO of VIPKID, then delivered a speech on "The Development of Global Education Industry in the AI Era". Using VIPKID's practical experience as an example, she shared the exploration of educational technology over the past decade and analyzed the current trends and opportunities of global AI education products - "The real educational transformation does not lie in technology, but in concepts." “
Roundtable Discussion: A New Picture of Multi-Dimensional AI Education
The roundtable discussion was participated by Chen Zhao, Hua Sun, Yi Wang, Wenjuan Mi and Jin Liu. The speakers discussed the challenges and opportunities of AI implementation from different perspectives such as technical ethics, policy support, and teaching practice. The audience at the scene actively interacted with them.

Closing Speech: Continuously Connecting Global Resources
Xin Guo, the Party Secretary of Dongsheng Town, delivered the closing speech. He elaborated on the industrial development and innovation ecosystem of Dongsheng Town from scientific and technological resources, industrial clusters, and talent services. As the eastern core area of the Zhongguancun Science City, Dongsheng Town gathers over 30 top universities and research institutions including Tsinghua and Peking University. It has meticulously built a 260,000-square-meter high-tech industrial park cluster, creating a fertile ground for enterprise development and striving to become a model of integrating education innovation and technology.
At the end of the forum, the host introduced the upcoming AUCA Summer Career Events which will be held in Beijing on July 19th. This event aims to further facilitate the connection between overseas talents and domestic enterprises.
The event concluded successfully with a chill cocktail party. The participants all expressed that this forum provided a forward-looking perspective on the integration of AI and education, and also established an important platform for cross-disciplinary cooperation.
