On July 3, 2026, the "Forum on Digitalized Education between Chinese and Overseas Universities" jointly organized by the AUCA and the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was successfully held at Staff Club on Wu Dong Campus, SUFE. Representatives from nearly 20 Chinese and overseas universities participated in the event.

Opening Speech

At the beginning, Deputy Director Xin Liu from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and Nelly Zhang, Chair of AUCA Institutional Partnership Committee delivered opening speeches. Xin Liu warmly welcomed all the participants and shared the transformation practices of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, centered around "Digital and Intelligent New Finance", including the construction of the "1+10+100+N" AI course system and the independent research and development of the financial big model.

Nelly Zhang thanked the organizers for their meticulous arrangements and introduced that AUCA, as a non-profit association with over 150 overseas university members, plays a crucial role as a bridge in promoting international educational exchanges. She looked forward to achieving more cooperation through the forum.

Keynote Speech

Ziye Wang, Director of School of Digital Economics SUFE, delivered a speech on "Adaptation to Change and Promote Innovation through Integration". She elaborated on the college's exploration of talent cultivation in the era of generative AI, including modular course design, Socratic-style AI teaching assistants, and industry-academia integration practices with leading enterprises such as Ant Group and Meituan.

Jiayang Wan, Director of IE University in the Greater China region, shared the university's extensive exploration experience in the digital field over the years and its "All in AI" strategy. She also introduced innovative practices such as the comprehensive integration of AI tools into teaching and assessment models.

 Roundtable Discussion & Free Exchange

During the roundtable discussion, the speakers engaged in in-depth exchanges on "Opportunities, Challenges and Mechanism Innovation on the Digital Education Cooperation between Chinese and Overseas Universities".  Peggy Zou, the project leader of Peking University Stanford Center, served as the moderator. The speakers discussed the impact of AI on teaching assessment, students' critical thinking, and the role of teachers, and shared practical cases such as cross-border online collaborative learning and AI style comparison teaching.

During the free exchange session, representatives from different universities discussed specific issues such as cooperation between China and overseas countries in education, the connection between undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and joint master's programs in depth. The communication atmosphere was very lively.

The event provided an opportunity for Chinese and overseas universities to have face-to-face communication. Through sharing experiences and stimulating intellectual exchanges, it laid the foundation for exploring the entry points for international cooperation in the future. In the future, AUCA will continue to collaborate with Chinese and foreign universities to build a deep dialogue platform, and deepen the cooperation and exchanges in international education between China and overseas countries.
