On May 31st, over twenty members of the AUCA Automotive Club visited Harman China for an in-depth tour and exchange. This event brought together representatives and alumni from overseas universities such as Washington University in St. Louis, Arizona State University, Michigan State University, Ohio State University, University of Rochester, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of Virginia. They listened to a detailed introduction of Harman, discussed the latest trends in the automotive industry, and experienced Harman’s cutting-edge high-tech products firsthand.

At the beginning of the event, Bill Xu Chairman of the AUCA Alumni Engagement Committee and Head of China Office, Washington University in St. Louis, thanked Harman for their arrangements and hospitality. Sean Zhou, HR Director of Harman China’s Automotive Division, and Joshua Gong, Senior Finance Director, welcomed the visiting representatives and alumni from overseas universities.

After the guests introduced themselves, Jerry Li, an alumnus of Washington University in St. Louis and currently the Global Hardware Engineering VP at Harman China, gave a company presentation. Jerry provided a detailed overview of Harman’s history, product layout, innovative achievements, and development strategy in the Chinese market.

Harman designs, produces, and provides various intelligent automotive systems, audio-visual products, enterprise automation solutions, and IoT technology services for the global automotive market, consumer market, and professional fields. China has become the world’s largest automotive consumer market, and Harman increasingly values close cooperation with Chinese automakers, tech companies, and other industry partners to meet consumers’ demand for high-quality driving experiences through unique intelligent automotive and car audio solutions.

During the exchange session, alumni had in-depth discussions on the future direction of the automotive industry, focusing on topics such as intelligent connectivity and electrification.

The most exciting part was the demonstration of Harman’s latest ‘Ready’products, showcasing “consumer-grade experience, automotive-grade quality.” Harman’s professional team demonstrated their leading technologies and solutions, which are increasingly transforming people’s driving and entertainment experiences. Alumni showed great interest in the innovation and practicality of these products, eagerly trying them out and highly praising their performance and quality.
