On the afternoon of May 27th, 15 students and their accompanying teachers from the International Competence Talent Training Class of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) visited Shanghai to engage with representatives from AUCA. This visit aimed to broaden the international perspective of the students, enhance their cross-cultural communication skills, gain an in-depth understanding of the operational model of non-profit organization, and pave the way for their future academic and career development.

The event was opened by Ms. Shan Shan Zhao, Director of Operations at AUCA. She warmly welcomed the students and teachers from HUST, briefly introduced the founding process, mission, and organizational structure of AUCA, and shared a series of recent recruitment, alumni, and member activities organized by AUCA, giving the students a deeper understanding of the organization.

Following this, Ms. Fang Fang, the tutor of the International Competence Talent Training Class and Head of Student Affairs at the School of Foreign Languages at HUST, introduced the background, objectives, and curriculum of the training class. The International Competence Talent Training Class actively responds to the strategic mission of “Four Abilities Enhancement” with the goal of “Understanding China, Understanding the World, and Being Competent for the Future.” It aims to enhance HUST students’ ability to learn efficiently, work with high quality, and communicate effectively in international and diverse environments, cultivating high-quality, high-level, and versatile international talents with patriotism, global vision, cross-cultural communication skills, and global governance competence.

During the exchange session, students from different majors and grades introduced themselves and discussed their academic plans, research directions, and career aspirations with Ms. Zhao. In response to the students’ various questions, Ms. Zhao affirmed their ambitions and provided practical advice, encouraging them to understand future industry trends based on their own situations, prepare for potential challenges, and shine in various fields as talents with a global vision.

The successful hosting of this visit provided valuable learning and exchange opportunities for both sides, opened a window between AUCA and the students, and allowed HUST students to conduct on-site investigations outside the campus. It also injected fresh vitality and youthful energy into AUCA’s development in international education.
