On July 26, 2024, AUCA and the Healthcare Employer Branding and Campus Recruitment Alliance（HECA）jointly held a healthcare industry career salon in Shanghai. This event was aimed at current students, recent graduates, and young alumni from overseas universities. It attracted nearly forty students from dozens of overseas universities and representatives from overseas universities in China. As part of AUCA’s summer series of career development and recruitment activities, this event focused on the talent needs and job preparation in the healthcare industry.

At the beginning of the event, Ms. Wenting Wu, Chair of AUCA Career Services Committee, Director of Employer Relations and China Career Services, University of Southern California introduced AUCA and its career development activities. She thanked HECA for their support and welcomed representatives from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Washington University in St. Louis, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, and Ohio State University.

The Healthcare Employer Branding and Campus Recruitment Alliance which grew in 2022, is a self-organizing industry association. It currently has more than 20 members from foreign pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The alliance adheres to the principles of “sharing, collaboration, and innovation,” focusing on employer branding and campus recruitment hot topics, integrating platforms and resources, and advocating innovative solutions. Representatives from seven multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies participated in this event, introducing their companies’ profiles and cultures, development in China, and talent plans. These companies included AstraZeneca, Boston Scientific, Bristol Myers Squibb, GSK, Novartis, Roche, and Viatris.

In the subsequent group discussion session, company representatives engaged in lively and in-depth exchanges with students on hot topics such as job preparation, how to find the right opportunities, and current job search challenges and strategies.

Through this event, students not only deepened their understanding of the healthcare industry but also received valuable job search advice and guidance. AUCA and HECA will continue to commit to building platforms for students to communicate with top industry companies, helping them achieve greater success in their career paths.
