On December 12, 2025, AUCA held a unique Holiday Mixer in a century-old villa in Jing'an District, Shanghai. Over 30 guests attended the event, including representatives from renowned oversea universities in the United States, Europe, Asia, and counselors from international high schools in Shanghai. They shared their perspectives on topics such as the situation of overseas employment and financial security for studying abroad. The event also featured a gift relay to enhance communication and strengthen cooperation.
The event kicked off by Shanshan Zhao, Operation Director of AUCA. First, Wenting Wu, Honorary Chair of AUCA Career Services Committee, delivered a keynote speech on "Trends on Global Study Abroad and Insights into Returning to China for Employment", analyzing the changes in study abroad destinations and the employment situation of returning students in recent years, providing the audience with profound industry insights and trend perspectives.
Subsequently, Catherine Chen, an expert from the cross-border education payment platform Flywire, analyzed a few real financial fraud cases that have frequently occurred among international students in recent years, revealing common fraud tactics. She emphasized the importance of regularly promoting financial safety education and shared some practical suggestion on how to prevent. The counselors all expressed that they would share the relevant knowledge with students and parents in the future to help them heighten their vigilance and build a safer financial environment.
Following the professional exchange was the exciting and joyful gift box relay and self-introduction session. AUCA prepared a carefully selected and distinctive small gift package for each guest. The previous guest selected the gift for the next guest. Each gift conveyed sincere holiday greetings and the beautiful wish of happiness.
During the self-introduction, representatives from various universities and high schools all shared information about their work experiences, and vacation plans. This session further deepened the understanding among each other and strengthened the camaraderie among colleagues. The joyful atmosphere reached its peak at this moment.
